Conceived and developed as an open sports car, the Jaguar E-Type debuted at Conceived and developed as an open sports car, the Jaguar E-Type debuted at the Geneva Salon in March 1961 in fixed-head coupé form. The car caused a sensation - spontaneous applause breaking out at the unveiling - with its instantly classic lines and a 150mph top speed. The design owed much to that of the racing D-Type, a monocoque tub forming the main structure while a tubular spaceframe extended forwards to support the engine, which was the 3.8-litre, triple-carburettor, ’S’ unit first offered as an option on the preceding XK150. Aerodynamically, the coupé was superior to the roadster and the better Grand Tourer, enjoying as it did a marginally higher top speed and the considerable convenience of a generously sized luggage platform accessed via the side-hinged rear door. Its engine aside, only in terms of its transmission did the E-Type represent no significant advance over the XK150, whose durable four-speed Moss gearbox it retained.
This highly desirable ‘Series 1’ E-Type coupé was delivered new to Jaguar Cars, New York, USA and has covered only 26,313 miles (approximately 42,300 kilometres) from new. Sold new to Mr Masko Laninick, it is one of the last of 5,872 left-hand drive Series 1 coupés built. The accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms matching numbers and records the original colour combination as Opalescent Silver Grey with red interior. From 1990 onwards the E-Type remained with one owner in Kansas until 2016 when it was sold by Gullwing Motor Cars, New York to a prominent Belgian private collector. In 2018 the car changed hands again, passing to the current vendor, another prominent Belgian collector.
The vendor advises us that this car has been restored to a very good standard, which is confirmed by the evaluation carried out by the respected Belgian Classic Car expert Mr Gert Beets. Mr Beets concludes: “This car has been restored to a very good level. It is an original left-hand drive E-type Series I Fixed Head Coupe in quite original mechanical configuration.” The car also has a FIVA passport (issued 27th December 2019) categorising it as 'A/3’ (A = original; 3 = restored).
Finished in red with tan leather interior, the E-Type is said to drive extremely well and is described by the vendor as ready to be enjoyed. Accompanying additional documentation includes a manufacturer’s brochure, sundry maintenance invoices, Belgian registration papers, and the aforementioned Heritage Certificate.

Bentley 4½-Litre Weymann Saloon - 1929 by Perico001 Coachwork by Maythorn & Sons
Chassis n° XF3520
Coachbuilder Maythorn & Sons opted for discretion and created excellent proportions and volumes, rather different to what was going on across the Channel. This saloon used the French Weymann method, which reduced weight, while the impression of power was enhanced by the high bonnet.

When California real-estate tycoon Angelo Markoulis was in the market for a new Rolls-Royce, he knew that he wanted something truly special. Hence, he went straight to Cerrito Motor Coach Limited in San Jose, California, and commissioned a one-off Silver Spur with additions by in-house unit Hooper & Company Ltd. Named as a tribute to their former St James Street location in London, the ‘St James’ took almost a year to complete.
The Hooper conversion was extensive. Finished in two-tone Georgian Silver and Ocean Blue, external additions included an oversize sterling silver Flying Lady, power rear sunroof and special ‘Hooper’ and ‘St James’ badges on the boot. The interior was ordered in Light Blue Luxor leather and Grey piping, complemented by a Grey
headliner and Mountain Blue carpets bound with Grey Luxor leather. Wood veneer picnic tables, cocktail cabinets and a television are available to those passengers in the back seats, while the dashboard holds an Alpine AM/FM stereo and equalizer with an Alphasonik Autosub.
In 1987, after driving the St James for 1,335 miles, the vehicle was put to rest in the family garage. Used sparingly since, when sold to the Netherlands in 2015, the odometer read just over 1,500 miles. The St James was shown at Concours d’Elegance Suisse in 2018 where it placed 1st in the Future Classiques, Berlines de Luxe 1980–1985 class. With such low mileage, it presents in exceptionally well-preserved condition throughout. A true one-off with almost every option possible, the ‘St James’ will surely attract collectors looking for something truly special. https://flic.kr/p/QUk1CX

Rolls-Royce Corniche V Cabriolet - 2001 by Perico001 Recalling its glamorous Grandes Routières of pre-war days such as the Phantom II Continental, Rolls-Royce’s final coachbuilt models were limited to just two: a two-door coupé or similar convertible, the former arriving in March 1966 and the latter in September the following year. The cars were hand built in the best traditions of British coachbuilding using only materials of the finest quality, including Wilton carpeting, Connolly hide, and burr walnut veneers. Despite them having a price some 50% higher than the standard Silver Shadow’s, demand for these more glamorous alternatives was strong right from the start, a state of affairs that resulted in them being given their own model name - ‘Corniche’ - in March 1971. The original Corniche proved a major success for Rolls-Royce; periodically revised and up-dated, it remained in production well into the 1990s, the last (Convertible) examples being delivered in 1995.
But although the original model had been rendered obsolete, Rolls-Royce was determined that the name, and indeed the concept, should not die. And so, for 2000, it introduced the next iteration: the Corniche V. In a reversal of tradition, this new Rolls-Royce was based on an existing Bentley model – the Azure – rather than the other way around, and featured styling derived from that of the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph saloon. By this time, Rolls-Royce was owned by BMW, but the Corniche V had been developed while the British firm belonged to Volkswagen, which would keep both the Bentley brand and the Crewe factory. It is historically significant as the only new Rolls-Royce developed under the auspices of VW, and the last built at Crewe. Thus the Corniche used the 'old’ Rolls-Royce/Bentley 6,75-litre pushrod V8 in its turbo-charged form, rather than the Seraph’s more modern BMW V12. Hand built in two-door convertible form only, the Corniche V was designed more with comfort in mind than outright speed, though most customers would have found its 215 km/h (135 mph) maximum more than sufficient for an open car. At the time of its release, it was the most expensive Rolls-Royce on offer, with a base price of US$ 359.900. When the last Corniche V rolled off the production line in August 2002, it marked the end of Rolls-Royce manufacture at the Crewe factory, which henceforth would produce only Bentleys.
Previously registered in Monaco, this left-hand drive Corniche V Convertible was first registered in the UK by JD Classics in February 2015 and has had only one private owner in this country. Serviced by marque specialists P&A Wood in February 2015, the car will be offered for sale freshly serviced and MoT’d by them (bills on file). Presented in generally excellent condition, having covered only 19.470 kilometres from new, this beautiful soft-top Rolls-Royce is offered with Monaco registration/export paperwork and a UK V5C Registration Certificate.

15.015 miles showing on the clock and every indication that the figure is correct : DVLA records show that this Rover 25 covered fewer than 7.000 miles from its first MOT in 2007 to its last in 2011. And then there is the condition – remove the number plates and wave an aerosol of New Car Smell inside the car and no-one would be the wiser. Perhaps.
This Rover 25 Impression is one of the last of the line – production ceasing nine months after this car was first registered on 30th June 2004. Supplied new by Evans Halshaw in Reading, there are two stamps in the service book and it comes with its bookpack including handbook and a current V5C
Not a bad car, and - in fact - Britain’s best-selling car in April 2000, the Rover 25 suffered from lack of investment at cash-strapped Rover and then from lack of interest when the company was sold first, down the river and then to the Chinese.
Still, that was then, and this is now and what is on offer here is an automotive memento mori and not something you will see everyday. E-Types ? Common. Aston Martins ? Ten-a-penny. How many nearly new Rover 25 Impressions have you seen recently? And in the perfect colour, sporting the up-dated MG frontal styling, and improved interior. Did we mention the low mileage? What a combination.
If you didn’t buy one of these when they were new, shame on you. You can however, make up for that and buy the next best thing: this one. https://flic.kr/p/FSck6D
