BMW 3.0 CSL - 1973 by Perico001 E9
This BMW 3.0 CSL was delivered new to Italy in February 1973. The “L” stood for lightweight. The 3.0 CSL was built using lightweight aluminum doors, bonnet and boot lid and bucket seats. Its big rear wing was not allowed in some country for safety reasons, so it was stored in the boot by BMW before deliverance to the owner of the car. He/she then decided the rear wing to be installed on the boot.
This matching numbers car underwent a group up restoration by BMW Group Classic in Munich in 2018 (commissioned by Ginion Classics). It’s still wearing its typical ‘70s color “Inka”.
