Many at Rolls-Royce wanted to develop Bentley’s sporting pedigree like the pre-war prototype 4,5-litre Embiricos penned by Georges Paulin. It influenced Derby stylist, Ivan Everndale, when he sketched the Continental. He retained the vertical grille and adopted the powerful front and fluid rear.

This sporty Bentley Continental Tourer DHC features a sports bodywork by the lesser known coachbuilders Oxborrow and Fuller. In 1936, this car not only took part in the 1936 Monte Carlo Rally, it also won the First Class Price at Monte Carlo afterwards. In 1936 it also ran in the RAC Rally. 15 years later the owners if the Bentley competed in the Monte Carlo Rally and the RAC Rally to celebrate it’s 15th anniversary. In 2003 the car won First Class Prizes Bentley Drivers Club and Rolls-Royce Enthusiast Club and the Derby Bentley Trophy and Eastick Plate. Between 2003 and 2019 the car was renovated with originality, character and patina in mind.
