Well this is a really interesting car. According to Jaguar Heritage, this is a 1939 2 ½ litre SS100 Roadster Chassis no. 49064 . It was sold to Van Den Plas of Antwerp, the Belgian Company of the famous coachbuilder and one of Belgium’s top Carrossieres. The original project was stopped due to the start of the hostilities and didn’t re-start until after the war. It was built in Figoni Art Deco style and together with a coachbuilt MKIV being the only chassis available at the time, they were exhibited at the 1948 Brussels Motor Show. This car was recently for auction at R.M. Sotheby . It presumably didn’t reach its reserve. Just as a small aside, most people including me call this company ‘ Vanden Plar’ but because it’s a Flemish name, it should be pronounced Van Den Plass with a hard S .
